XL Triathlon

The start of the XL Triathlon Je vois la Vie en Vosges will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. at the Union Nautique, in a single wave.

Race numbers can be collected from Espace Lac in Gérardmer from Thursday, September 3.

Distances: 1.9km swim – 90km bike – 21km run
Event open to senior category (20 years old, 2006)
Registration includes the pasta party (Friday, September 4)
Those who are not licensed in triathlon must provide a medical certificate.

TIME LIMIT

Start: 8:45 a.m.
Swimming: 1 hour 10 minutes (9:55 a.m.)

End of second bike lap: 4:30 p.m. (1:15 p.m.)

Swimming + Cycling: 6:00 p.m. (2:45 p.m.)
End of second running lap: 7:40 p.m. (4:25 p.m.)
Race closes: 8:30 p.m. (5:15 p.m.)

SWIMMING

Start in a single wave at 8:45 a.m. at Union Nautique.
1,900 meters in the clear waters of Lake Gérardmer.
Course marked by yellow buoys.
Wetsuits allowed if the water temperature is below 24.6°C.
Swimming time limit: 1 hour 10 minutes
Training in the lake is only permitted along the shore

BIKE

Three 31 km loops in the heart of the Ballon des Vosges Natural Park.
Fairly rolling course (long flat sections and slight downhill gradients) but also selective (nine hills over the entire course).
Elevation gain: 630 m/lap
Safety: Bike course completely closed to traffic
2 aid stations/lap
Time limit for swimming + biking: 6 hours
Transition area closes at 2:45 p.m.

RUNNING

Three 7 km loops around Lake Gérardmer.
The first half of the circuit is shaded and hilly, while the second half is flat. 80% asphalt and 20% stabilized path.
Elevation gain: 80 m per lap.
Three aid stations per lap.
Time limit for completing the second lap of the run: 7:40 a.m. (i.e. 4:25 p.m.)
Race closes at 5:15 p.m.

AWARDS

The podium finishers in each age category will be honored at the awards ceremony on Saturday, September 5, starting at 4:20 p.m.

The winner of each age category in the XL Triathlon will be invited to participate in the 2027 edition.
